Div
Hi, I have some geometry, objects copied onto particles using a copy sop ( creating groups), and i want to export these objects animation to a chan file. The only way i found to do it is by using a rbd fractured object to get it into dop and export them as chan file within a dynamics chop (exporting the t? r? and p? channels).... Because of the geometry moves as the particles goes i need to check the "deforming geometry" option in the rbd fractured object, in order to make my objects move like the particles... When i export the dynamics chop as a chan file and read it ( with a texteditor ) i notice that there is no animation... How can i do this ? am i right to try this within a dynamics chop, or is there another way to do this ? Thanks a lot for your further help. GallenWolf
Heya, Have you tried using the Geometry CHOP and setting it to Animated mode? That should do to bring in the particle animations, no need DOPs. Make sure the frame ranges are good in chops. Div
I'm looking at the geometry chop, and it seems that i can only export the points positions of the particles (or of the objects copied on it ). I need to export the transform values (position, rotation, scale) of the copied objects...
GallenWolf
Hiya! Hmm... I'm trying the particle chop, but search here indicates it's broken? GAH! In anycase, have you tried extracting/renaming say, the rot attribute from pops, P attribute etc. using the geo chop? That may help you... extractROT.hip
Div
Thanks a lot, i will use this... I'm going to make a import plugin in xsi, based from my Dop2Xsi, in order to import these data.... Edited May 15, 2008 by Div
Div
I've got another question for you... I success to import the position data, but i've got some problems with the rotation. The rotation from a pop simulation got 4 channel : rot[0], rot[1], rot[2] and rot [3] ; and there are only three axis x y and z, so what are these values... How can i get the rotation value for the x y and z axis from the four values i've got. Thanks Nico Edited May 16, 2008 by Div
