jono338
Hi there, I have a FireGL 8800 that used to get > 2500 fps in glxgears with the pre-unified drivers ... now I get 70! <sob> ATI are useless, as they say ... quote Unfortunately, we don't provide technical support of this operating system unquote unfortunate for whom? I'm using Gentoo, and would like not to have to move to Redhat, but guess I will if that's the only solution. So, could anyone else with this card let me know if you get hardware accell with drivers you've got, and what drivers you're using, and what version of Linux. BTW, apart from the lack of hardware acceleration, the drivers work fine and I'm using linux-2.4.20, glibc-2.3.1, gcc-3.2 My next idea is to build a glibc-2.2 system, but it seems to me if that was a problem, nothing would work. Cheers. Jonathan Kelly.
jono338
Resolved: it appears its a bug in the new drivers identifying a Fire GL 8800 as a Radeon 8500.
