nosferatu_037
hi guys im trying to create a simple simulation in which i could collide an animated box with a cylinder and make box a dentable object, basically something like the car cloth impact from houdini 10 videos, but much simpler. im expecting to see a deformed box when collided but im having trouble transfering my animation into dop network.it seems like cloth object cannot read my obj animation. is there a way i can make this work? ive included a simple scene. clothProblem.hip
GallenWolf
Hello mate, I haven't had the chance to play with the new cloth tools yet, but from what I see you are hoping to use the transforms from sops to be applied to the cloth's animation in dops? I don't think that will work - I've put in a force into your hip file, that should help. If you need the deformation to be done based on an animated mesh, you may want to look into the sop solver instead and use tools like the ray sop, perhaps even metaballs to accumulate dents in sops using the sop solver - that may or may not work. If you grab the zip from here I packaged up the car crash workflow I used to make those animations enjoy: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com...&Itemid=
baadu
Hi all I just looked through the carsmash file and tried my own little sim but ran in to a strange problem with the PINTOANIMATIOn attribute. I'm using a car imported as bgeo and use the file sop to read it . My cloth sim somehow does not follow my keyframed animation. When i switch this with a sphere then the clothobject follows the animation . can anyone help? I've attached the files in a zip file thanks Amit crumpling_car.zip
baadu
just realized that the clothsim fails with the car geometry altogether. So my question now is why?I've tried convert to poly just to be sure but still fails. The files are attached in the zip file thanks Amit Hi all I just looked through the carsmash file and tried my own little sim but ran in to a strange problem with the PINTOANIMATIOn attribute.
