hi,

i want to control the orientation of the instances from outside. for example I want to give every point a specific orientation attribute, that i want to read in later in dops rbdpointobject. the rbdpointobject has a option called use point value, but what kind of variable is it looking for?

Generally with instancing/copying, alignment is controlled by either the point normals or velocity with the positive Z direction of the object to be instanced/copied facing alone the normal.

The best example to see exactly what is doing what is to just rbdpoint instance a cone (tube with radius 0 and 1) to a grid with either normals or velocity and testing different results depending on the direction of the point normals/velocity and what axis the cone is aligned to in it's creation options.
