nicholas
Hi, I'm working on a shuttle launch shot (aka http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I0mftrFD7X4) and am having trouble making fluids/pyro volumes/whatever.. move that fast. I've tried all the forces, pumps, etc. that I can think of, but I just can't get the volume to skid across the ground the way that first burst does. I'm thinking, there must be a good workflow for this. Should I be animating the shape of my emitter? Animating my volume container? Any good tuts out there. The "overviews" and "intros" on sidefx.com give a good explanation of the nodes, but barely even gloss over controlling the volumes themselves (the ones I've found so far anyway)... Thanks

essencevfx
try to increase your force scale, its exposed under advanced on the pyro solver . As well, adding more temp. ( or bumping up the temp scale on the pyro source ) will create faster vel's in your fluid..
