melazoma Posted January 7, 2010 Share Posted January 7, 2010 Hi all, We are trying to get the effect of the Auto Full-Body IK rig in newer versions of Maya. Has anyone attempted to build a character rig with full-body IK? i.e. pulling a finger far enough and it will drag the entire body with it. ofer Posted January 11, 2010 Share Posted January 11, 2010 Maybe you can setup the something like this: Parent a shoulders control to the arm ik control through a blend object. In the blend object, use an expression for the weight, that "activates" the parenting (setting it to 1) only when the arm control is at a distance bigger then the length of the arm's bones, and when less, it disables the parenting.
