gshady
Hello, sorry again for my question about importing from Maya. I need to import my Maya camera and skydome lights in Houdini, can anyone give me help? In Houdini are there light manipulators like in Maya? how can I control interactly lights and camera? Thanks in advance Giuseppe
michael
ugh.... cameras can be rebuild using some of this info: from Rangi Sutton houdini Aperture * 0.03936981 = maya Horizontal Film ApertureOr backwards: houdini Aperture = 25.400173 * maya Horizontal Film Aperture Yep, maya focal and houdini focal are the same deal... I've checked the above by outputing rib's from each package and it's good.. That should be all you need, also there is some more info in the docs > ExpressionLang.pdf > Expression Cookbook > 12 > Matching Houdini Cam to the Real World as for lights, I think most things will be different enough that you'd be better off just redoing them in Houdini...you can make a sky dome using this script > Faking Global Illumination Houdini's camera and light manips are REALLY nice, check out the videos at Vislab for how they work.
