StevieMac
I've just bought a Quadro FX 1800 & one thing thats bugging me with Houdini is it doesn't seem to update the viewport much. For example I'm creating a noise material in SHOPs & while I'm changing the settings for the noise the Shader View lags. Also I was following a tutorial on 3dBuzz about sprites & as the guy tumbled the view around in the Shader View his texture moved in realtime mine stays put until I let go of the mouse button. I'm running Win 7 ultimate x64 8Gb Ram Duel Xeon Latest Houdini Quadro FX 1800 So am I missing a settings dialog somewhere? or am I missing something else? Thanks guys Steve
michael
in the bottom right hand corner there is a button that says "On Mouse UP or Auto Update or Manual" - you want Auto Update HTH
StevieMac
Thanks Michael for the reply I just checked that & I already have it on Auto Update but when I change it to On Mouse UP it updates Automaticly! Thats a bit crazy?!? It still only updates in realtime the lower quater of the shader viewer grid tho. I changed the shader viewport res to low & it updates the whole grid is there something I need to turn on for Houdini to use the full memory of the graphics card it has 768 MB surely it can handle this? Any ideas why it's all backwards? Thanks Steve
