Richey
Hi there, I'm using Houdini for some weeks and I'm very disappointed of the modeling. It's SO slow. When I try to select a face or another component I always have to wait a second or two. I've got Win7 Pro, ATI 4800 card, a Intel quad processor and 4 GB of ram and I'm using the newest drivers - So that should not be the reason. Every other 3d application runs fine in modeling. Is this a known problem of Houdini or a hardware problem? Would be great if there is a solution because in every other aspect Houdini runs fine. PS: If snapping is on I even have to wait longer. Thx! Richey.
LFX
Hello Richie, this is a common problem with ATI cards, beside other weird things. You can try one's luck with this solution. http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&t=15784&highlight= But I had to detach my ATI-FireGL, and learned that 'workstation for 3D work' means not for Houdini! Good luck
