el_diablo
I am trying to animate a knife picking up some butter from a cup and spreading it on a piece of bread. I have some ideas that I am trying out currently, but am not sure that thats the best way to do it. I am trying out particle fluids with high viscosity and remeshing them. So far its been pretty painfull as simulations are prety slow, even with a small number of particles. Any suggestions are welcome.
aracid
Hey hey, Id go with that method but change the particle scale, it doesn't need to be very small, and u can usually get away with less subbstepping. What id do is wedge rop different versions with a different seed, so u have 10 versions of the same sim but slightly different, that way u do a version with fewer particles, but u retain a fair amount detail, merge them all together and mesh that. This may very well work for what u need
el_diablo
Well, I managed to get it working ok. Still two things to solve. First is the knife needs to have some stickyness to it. I'm not sure how to do this. Second one is the fluid needs to be very viscous without the bounce.
