cleaning geometry

im getting some bad faces when i export to an obj format. I re-import the obj into houdini and i can see that the faces are bad in the obj so its some last step i must be missing to create a clean model to export. everything looks fine before the export (except that i have one single face with a billion ngon!)

here is the mesh comming from houdini, just after the resample and the polyspline.

here is the obj

you can see the face that sort of cuts through

so i tried to use a triangulate 2D but it flattened everything down to one plane?

so what sort of cleanup node would I use to export this model as a clean obj for use in another package?

One way I did find was to use the divide node to triangulate.

that seemed to work, but produce some nasty triangle meshes. it might render out ok, but id like to find a cleaner way to export with the triangle2D node as that seems to produce more regular shape polygons.
