LFX
Hello there, I found an expand function a little while ago, which gives the parameter field a dashed border and then you can add a value to the channel reference via the slider. I can not find it anymore. Anyone?
Macha
Middle click a parameter field that takes strings. It gets a dashed border and you can then slide and add numbers. Is that what you mean?
LFX
Hmm, I must have mixed sth. up. Nice feature anyway, to see the result of an expression in a string parameter. But now I doubt that there is any way for my request - to use the slider in a numeric parameter to add a value to the expression that's lying in there. Macha
You can hover your mouse above a numerical value in an expression and middle click and adjust it. Is that what you mean? Edited October 22, 2010 by Macha
LFX
No, that's the way I do it now. Would be really convenient if I could choose a value in the expression which I can set with the parameter slider. Thanks anyway. Macha
Oooooh, I see what you mean! Go to the gear icon, "edit parameter interface", add one and then refer to it with an expression like ch("parm") Edited October 22, 2010 by Macha
LFX
Ah OK, I see what 'you' mean. But now I have a second slider. Is there anyway to hide only the slider resp. field, or can I only hide the whole parameter with the expression? Which would be bad, as this contains the result I like to see. Edit: Found a good compromise. I make a two float parameter and use the second to set the value in the expression. Anyway a slider would be the right thing, as I only want to see the result. Thanks Macha, for taking me in the right direction. Edited October 22, 2010 by LFX
Macha
Well you can hide parameters and do other UI acrobatics until you achieve the look you want!
