loudsubs
I've crept a line on a deformed grid. I then created some bones from the crept line. Initially the bones fit with the curve, but as I translate the creep across the UV space, the bones dont stay oriented. I want the bones to stay with the curve and orient themselves according to the points of the line. Seems like the follow curve kinematics would be the answer, but I'm not getting the result. I also tried using point expressions in the goal object of each bone and the root to reference the line, but that wasn't working either. Any ideas? Thanks creepBones_v2.hipnc
michael
you need to do a few things to get this to work see attached file you point SOP to add normals should be set to something other than $NX, $NY, $NZ - I set it to 0, 0, 1 a good tip here is whenever you mess with point normals turn on display of normals...to see what's happening the root of the bone chain needs to move with the 0 point of your curve and the bone length needs to adapt to the length of the deforming curve - measure the curve / # of bones in bone length HTH creepBones_v3.hipnc
loudsubs
Thanks Michael, Great idea getting the distance attribute up in the mix. And yeah, my point sop wasn't doing much the way I had it setup, lol. Thank you.
