barad_dur
Hello all, I was wondering if there is a way to encompass ALL things into a digital asset. To clarify: Let us say I have a geometry model that has a VEX definition doing something and a material that is applied at the obj level and that material is dependent on a couple of maps (bump, color etc.) and those maps are coming out of an image network (hence given an input file will output the maps to be used by the material). I could go on but hopefully you guys get the idea. The question is: Is there a way to encompass all of that into a single Digital Asset that I can lay down at the obj level that has all the parameters I need from all the nodes from all the contexts used to make up the asset with all the connections made so I don't have to go through and rebuild an effect/geometry-with-shading everytime? Would I be able to control all the Image network, Shop network, VEX network, Geometry network etc. parameters in a nice tidy package? I'd really like to be able to drop an asset down at the obj level and have it work right immediately (i.e. hit render and it renders with all the things I would expect) and have all the controls in the parameters pane from all the nodes of all the contexts used to make the thing in question. It would seem like this is possible but is far beyond what I know about building a DA. Any suggestions, ideas or comments (even if it is to say, "NO! That can't be done and here's why) would be most appreciated. Thank you. David

Thanks Mawi, That was much easier than I thought. Kinda feel a bit dumb now. David
