barad_dur
Hiyas, I was wondering if there is something that can be done in Houdini that operates the same way as Lightwave's Diffuse Sharpness for surface shading? Anyone know of anything? Thank you. David
symek
The closest equivalent is "roughness" parameter of oren-nayer lighting model, which might or might not be enough for you. You're also free to write tweak models (or scratch new one), sharper for example, if that's what you're after. Stretching Lambert model with fit() or pow() is a first thing I would think of, but there must be some models designed for that purpose, like Minnaert model made specially for astronomical observations. See rough example. cheers, skk. sharp_lambert.hipnc.zip
