djwarder
Hey! I'm doing a proof of concept test using FLIP fluids & was wondering if it's possible to export (or cache out) the velocity & density fields from the FLIP solver? Ideas anyone? Cheers Dan

Cheers Dan One way is to bring them to SOPs with DOP import fields node, then write it from there via file node. Or you could use a file data DOP and cache it in DOPS as simdata. Never use it myself, but by reading the help card you might find out how it works.

djwarder
Cheers for the help guys, didn't think it would be that easy but does exactly what I wanted! Just need to work out how to get density too, but wonder if this is stored on a per-particle level, will have a dig around ...
Macha
Hey Dan, try this. You can import all kinds of fields but some may not visualize easily. Pressure, for example, is not in a neat normalized 0..1 range, so you have to use the volume visualize sop to see it. fields.hipnc Edited February 23, 2011 by Macha
djwarder
Thanks again Macha, will have a play around with that now!
