Deform Geometry with particle(TP blurp)

I'd say, cookie your geometry, use the intersection to emit, and then use an attract pop. However, I always find the attract pop very hard to control. For the box particles, grow with a ramp. Your main problem here is control, I think.

I had a quick go at it but couldn't get a clean enough result to post. Maybe somebody knows a better solution to this.

Edit: The problem with the attract-pop and cookie is changing point counts (my pet problem with Houdini). The attractor doesn't work properly in that case.

Somewhere in there he explains how he creates the effect that is in the image used to present the tutes. It is a good start for an effect like this

Francois Simerey, who is on this forum sometimes, used that technique to create this
