aghourab
Hello peeps! Just a quick question, as i'm a tad confused with the Gas Calculate DOP. I'm wondering how the dest blend, source blend, calculation and blend method all work together. One example from the pyro solver shows:- Dest Field = Temperature Source Index = sourceindex ( property is temperature ) Dest Blend = Density Source Blend = Source Calculation = Copy Blend Method = Net New Source Thanks in advance:)
anim
its weird that H11 docs has only uncomplete info about this but all you want to know you can read in H9.5 docs http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini9.5/nodes/dop/gascalculate
anupamd
I have not tried this, but this is my guess: well this solver is used to blend 2 fields. Fields A: Source and Fields B: Destination. The result is then computed and stored back in B. (destination) Source blend and dest blend are scalar fields that determine how much of A gets blended with how much of B. they are essentially interpolation values. So basically you control the blend values per voxel within the fluid. seems like it works sort of like the "mix" vopsop. -A Edited July 15, 2011 by anupamd
aghourab
@anim -> Doh! Strange indeed, maybe accidentally deletd or something. Had a look at the H9.5 documents and it makes sense now, thanks! @anupamd -> Thanks for the explanation. Hopefully I can sort out my source now:)
