Hello all,

Sorry for some Basic question,

Can some one direct me where i can find L-system's Koch curve usage.

I like to know the practical usage of this in some effects.

If any one have used or aware of it's usage please let me know.

Can this be used for corrosion effect? if yes, how it can be used?

In houdini, L system's help you find this as island example

I have attached Koch curve image and corrosion image.

Hey man,

Not sure how to do it via L-system but you can do rust via shaders pretty easily. In houdini 10 there was a shader that houdini shipped with that did a pretty basic job of it. There is one I ported over from slim that does a better job that is based on occlusion, but it is more complex, also not as clean and as organized I do them now. Also I know there is another thread here where some one did it via particles. Pretty cool concept where they rained particles on it and based on the color transfer build up they based the rust on that.

here is another thread I remember looking at

Other Rust thread

Pretty much search rust in the search bar and you can find some cool ways of doing rust. None that I am aware of that do it via l-systems though.
