zoki
hi i have coffe cup broken and simulated exported in bgeo sequence also i wrote out sdf sequence for all the breaking of cup and saucer From cup interior i created volume for fluid and simulated initial state in a static cup now i want to use breaking cup to influence fluid and spill itself on a table i double checked normals and sdf all looks ok my cup and saucer are two static but deforming objects with merge setup on left so just ground and cup influence fluid but particle fluid with default settings explodes out of cup on 3rd frame any thoughts and pointers on this one as i wouldnt want to use other application than Houdini for solving it thanks zoran
Erik_JE
Are you using SPH or FLIP ?
zoki
i switched now from sph to flip the problem was if I read sdf sequence in, it wasnt clear to me at least which parameters are still active or which are overriden in collision tab so it looks that volume based collision on top needs to be ticked off in order for read in to work properly it is simulating now fingers x
zoki
it is working better but i have leakage through walls of cup even though sdf is without holes and substeps to 5 I will switch to sph to see if it helps
ikarus
flip fluids are really bad at collision detection with moving objects, switching to sph might help, that geo is pretty thin though, might require a good number of substeps
zoki
thanks ikarus i switched it to sph and volume collision detection it is simulating atm will see what happens
Erik_JE
I would stick with FLIP and cheat some on the collision geometry by offsetting it slightly. Then crank up substeps until nothing is leaking.
