extra image planes

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm experimenting with adding additional AOVs when rendering with H11 and mantra and need a little help setting up pworld and Zdepth and N.

I've searched the forum(s) but didn't quite get a clear understanding.

For pworld basically I get the surface position and transform it to space:world but I'm now stuck, what should I do now? just plug this into a parameter vop?

On the other hand I imagine Normals can be passed to the extra image plane straightaway, without the need to add a parameter vop to the shader right?

lastly how do you create the zdepth? :-)

Any help much appreciated, cheers!

Peppino

Yes wire pworld in to a Parameter VOP with a good name and set the Export option to always. You can now export this parameter in your Output Driver ROP by specifying the name and type and set the appropriate sampling as Closest Surface (minmax min) and bit depth as 32 bit full float.

Zdepth or Pz is directly supported by all Output Driver ROPs in the menu pull-down list of default available exports.
