Fess
I'm currently unable to generate .rat files using "icp" or "iconvert".....reasons unknown. Windows XP/Houdini 11.0.775 Shell>navigate to the folder where the textures are then, trying to convert .png to .rat syntax: icp something.png someting.rat unable to create .rat
or
iconvert something.png someting.rat unable to create .rat
Any assist is appreciated, ~Fess
sam.h
You can open an image in mplay and do File > Save Image As... to save out a .rat too.
LaidlawFX
restart the computer... you can run which iconvert , or dos equivalent, make sure that path is all dandy Check your source image to make sure it is good. Open it visually in mplay and photoshop/shake/nuke to make sure it has the appropriate channels and formatting. Tifs are a better intermediary I have had issues with .jpg for instance being made from grey scale displacement maps and acting wierd, since the "color" is only in the red channel and programs don't know how to handle that like houdini's ogl sometimes. also if you're on windows and your environment is not set up correctly you may need to do the full path with everything in "" to evaluate across, program files, and other such windows lovely nice.
