Initial State - Funky Transform

I have a dopnet and write the sim with a file dop.

Then I use one of those files in the Initial State on the DOP Network.

I would expect the sim to start with exactly the same state as that of the file. However, it's got some sort of funky transform on it: way to big and placed in a weird position. The dopnet itself has all transforms unchanged.

Is that expected behavior, and if not, what can I do?

I use the file dop to write simdata, not geometry, so that I can resume sims at arbitrary times.

I think what happens is that the object transform of the sop geo that gets sourced for the sim somehow gets used by the simdata and initial state of the dopnet.
