Rvb
Hi Everyone! I have modeled a palm tree just like in (not using speedtree btw, just as reference) and I want to get SSS to work. How can I achieve this? The leaves are simple grids slightly bended.I'm using the Mantra Surface Shader but I got no result using the standard leaf shader to . Does anyone know how I can create an realistic leaf? Best regards, Rogier
Klockworks
SSS is not designed to work on infinitely thin surfaces(ie flat bent planes). However, the mantra surface shader has the ability to do thin walled translucency.
zarti
cheap and 'safe' .. if leaves have no depth ( single primitives ) : -use a twosided vop node to at least 'transmit' the shadows onto the down side . - oc , you can tweak that side separately too ( shadow intensity , color , etc .. )
Rvb
Thanks Klockworks and Zarti for both solutions. I searched odforce for the translucency solution and I think it suits my needs! Thanks you! Regards, Rogier
