poppy
Hi I'm trying to use Houdini's built in Amazon cloud render. I tested it out with 10 framed job and it render fine, so I queued the whole 1000 frame of the same hip. I used 20 instances to render this. It finished the 1000 fames with no problem, but it stopped downloading finished frames after about 100 frames. I re-queued it and, again it stop download after about 100 frames or so. any idea? poppy
I think I kinda solved it. Think that it caused by my internet connection. The old setting was uncompressed tiff, 16.5 MB a frame. What, imho, happened was that HQueue couldn't download all the frame before the instance finished rendering and auto terminated. What I did was enabling LZW compression, reducing the size to 2 MB per frame. Deadline is higher priority in this project than the perfect quality. Amazon Cloud really work for, like my case, freelance that occasionally need farm power. I wish I could upgrade my connection (think its 6Mb), but optic cable not commonly available in Thailand.
