Is there a way to bake Light information to point cloud?

Hello,

Is there a way to bake or transform Light/ shader information directly to point cloud(simple point cloud created using scatter sop).

It does work in Mantra though. Basically Houdini doesn't run VEX surface/light code. But you can transfer color from Mantra point cloud to you mesh. Alternatively you may try to do this manually. There used to be even path tracer executed in SOPs. There is also abandoned Bake VEX: http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini11.1/nodes/sop/bakevex
