modelling and uv doubt

I have split the model into several groups so that i can animate the geo part by part.now how do i apply texture.

I have applied uvproject node and a uvquickshade.

found that i had some problems.now i have corrected the normals but still the problems continues.so i have applied the fuse node.this solves the texture problem but now if i check the connectivity.I see all my groups are now been removed.

Please tell me how to proceed.thank you.

oh uvunwrap node unwraps everything.do we need to manually unwrap? i am really new to cg.please bare with me

i have applied a uvquickshade after that to test.all i can see is the messed up textures with lots of grains.please help me out.thank you
