Netvudu
The new "Cloth Follow Animation" shelf tool does the very same thing. It uses the SBD Pin constrain node. As an option if you want to attach the cloth to another object the new super useful and wonderful shelf tool "attach cloth to body", is awesome and looks suspiciously similar to Ncloth´s Attach point to surface option
jkunz07
the "attach cloth to body" replaced the "cloth pin constraint" in H12 I believe, it should be ok to use this instead for a flagpole setup. You will probably have to change the type from "soft" to "hard" though. If that doesn't work you could try this node http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini12.0/nodes/dop/sbdpinconstraint, I'm pretty sure that's the one the cloth pin shelf tool would use in it's setup. EDIT: hadn't tried the cloth follow animation tool yet, but it sounds like thats the direct replacement to the cloth pin tool Edited March 16, 2012 by jkunz07
