toadstorm
Hello, Sorry if this is a noob question. I want to be able to control the effect of fields in a DOPs simulation using bounding volumes. For example, I want to be able to direct a shattering effect so that pieces will float upwards, but only if they have passed within a specific volume (ideally one created and animated in SOPs, like a sphere or cube.) I've seen examples of this done with the RBD State DOP, but those examples only used a sweeping plane to determine what the glue strength was set to. The Maya equivalent would be setting a volume bound for a field. Is there a way to do this using volumes? Thank you!
anim
it's called Mask Field DOP, which you can connect directly to your force to limit it just within some volume there is an example in help
