Smoke SImulation For A Train

Hey Everyone,

I am working on a train smoke simulation and I really need a small help from you guys. I am unable to generate a train exhaust look out of it. I am attaching the file with this post so that I can get some input from you guys. What I feel right now is that the backward movement of the smoke coming out of the chimney of the train is not long enough. And the most important thing is that right now the simulation is of 5000 frames which is a bit too much for my shot. I want to bring down the animation of chimney covering the the Track path to only 500 frames, but when I tries to achieve that, the simulation stops working. Please have a look at the file. Any kind of help will be highly appreciable.

Thanks and Regards

Aayush

Hey Fayal,

Thanks for your kind reply.

Well the thing is that my source is really very small as compared to the track and if I make the source animation faster i.e. for 500 frames it runs out of the range of the container. I tried almost everything to make it stay inside the container. And slow simulation is the only solution that I came up with which is working for me. But it is taking really a long time to simulate. :(

hi i think there are a solution.

if we try to resolve

keep your track at500 frames because 5000 it will kill your memory and time i think.

play the gas dissipate in file to change some things as you like (to refine).

play the gas wind for the smoke direction as you like (to refine).

i add motion blur in create_density_volume.

i increase the sub steps in smoke simulation(DOP NETWORK)

hope this can help
