Cain & Able - Hiring freelance Houdini FX TD's (Mid - Senior)

Cain & Able is an international visual effects studio with offices in London and Shanghai, catering for the feature film industry.

We are currently recruiting freelance artists for a number of feature films we have been awarded. Film work will be allocated according to successful artists strengths.

The main role of the TD will be to develop tools into digital assets for use on shots. There will be full shot work also.

Duration

- two weeks to three months (With a possible extension, depending on rate and experience)

Location

- We are open to artists working remotely (Pay will be paid in GBP and converted at current rate)

- At our partner studio in Shanghai.

Experience

- at least two years experience in Houdini/Mantra. We are currently using H12.1

- a showreel that demonstrates your fx and lighting ability only. (We are more interested in the FX side of things than the lighting, but the lighting/shaders is a definite plus.)

- Ability converting into digital assets

- Able to extend fuctionality with off the shelf SOP/VOP Networks and ability to write Tools and Shaders

- Ability to light your fx and provide slapcomps for the shots

- Able to work in a fast and clean approach

- Able to take direction

- Understanding a creative brief

Tasks

- Dust | atmosphere effects | explosions | embers | cloth | sand

- Convert simulations/tools into Digital Assets

- Take shots from look dev-fx to final

- Light shots into live action plates in Mantra (we have lighters available to add the final touch if needed)
