eko
Hi, I got a pass from maya with motion blur rendered by mental ray. Now I need to add some effects by using pyro. But I can't get the right matte through houdini to match the pass from maya. This problem has annoyed me a lot. Somebody helps me!!! I am not sure how to do it Can I use the Dsm? Can nuke read the rat file? How to do that? I render the 2d motion blur pass from maya,it seems to be different from the pass using motion_vector from houdini? anim
I was doing similar thing with mantra and mental ray (softimage) the key is to know the blur direction and shutter speed, have matching scenes with animations (very important is sub-frame data so if your maya scene has nice interpolated curves and in houdini you have raw keyframes per frame, it will slightly differ) be careful about scaled cameras, try to use similar number of pixel samples and pixel filter it will never be exactly the same, but for my case the difference was not noticeable at all of course that's about 3d motion blur, 2d vector pass is easier to match, but in case of volumes I am not sure 2d vectors are good idea

eko
I wondering if there is a way to know how dsm merge works. What's the file format of rat?
