magneto
Of all the 3d apps I use this is the one Houdini surprises me the most. When I am loading other people's hip files, Houdini also loads their desktop and viewport display settings. Is there a way to avoid this? I really don't care which desktop and viewport settings the artist created the hip file with. I just want to use my own setup, always. It becomes annoying having to manually set these every time I open a scene before I can inspect it comfortably For example I don't have specular enabled, but most people do. I use the dark viewport background but most files I open uses the light viewport background. Is there a historical reason why it's designed this way? I know Houdini allows you to see the history of the scene unlike other 3d apps, but I don't need to see it from the owner's point of view (setup). Can SESI please allow us to have an option for this? Thanks Edited April 18, 2013 by magneto
