rurik
Hello I'm looking for any ressources to learn more about the wire solver. I can't seem to find anything out there that gives a clear approach...If I remember correctly, you have to setup a bunch of attributes to get it to work, but this may have changed since H10? Thanks for any pointers Alex
Solitude
Create a curve, go to the wires shelf, and click "Wire Object"... then go to the rigid bodies tab and click "Ground Plane" so you have something to collide with. This will set up a dopnet for you, and any attributes it needs on your curve(s).
anim
the only reference you need is http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini12.5/nodes/dop/wireobject http://www.sidefx.com/docs/houdini12.5/nodes/dop/wiresolver otherwise it's very straightforward solver, you don't need to provide any attributes at all even when setting up by hand, they are there to customize parameters per point/vertex
rurik
Thanks, that is indeed very simple...I had followed a tutorial a while ago that required all kinds of attributes creation, this is very straightforward. Alex
