IK with only Nulls?

Sure, but I guess I was curious why you'd have to use bones at all? Maybe it's irrelevant? For example, if you had a robot and wanted to move the leg pieces with IK, but didn't need weighting (no deforms needed), then it would be nice not to have to use bones, right?

You can modify bone and add as a permanent preset null or your custom geometry. Dive inside of the bone, there is Custom Link Geometry input. You will not see the bones ever again.
