siddd
+1 Could really do with a way to blend materials outside of VOPs. I have two completely different mantra materials and I'd like to blend (not switch) between them based on a point attribute. Sid
symek
This is currently one (from a very short list) of a limitations of Mantra. Materials are separate and arbitrary entities defined with vex code, which are hard to automatically blend. There is legacy way to turn a shader into VOP node and mix them inside material this way, but it is most of the time against current pipeline. You normally have to be smart with your custom components to build distinct blocks in Vops at front. There is nothing that can't be done in current setup, you can compose materials from any set of properties, it's simply not as easy as blending two shops.
