magnus1225
Hey all, I'd really like to start learning Houdini and read learning in a group/partner is more beneficial than going at it alone. If anyone is just about to start learning Houdini or just started and would like to discuss various techniques learned that day/week I'd love to team up. Thanks, Nathan
Guest tar
Hey Nathan, probably the best way to learn, if you can't find a group/partner, is to dive with the tutorials and ask questions here and on the Sidefx forum. After a few months doing that your learning snowball and you'll be speaking fluent Lingua Houdini.
Hudson
Hey Nathan, probably the best way to learn, if you can't find a group/partner, is to dive with the tutorials and ask questions here and on the Sidefx forum. After a few months doing that your learning snowball and you'll be speaking fluent Lingua Houdini. True story! And it trully feels like a snowball effect. It takes time to learn stuff. But every single thing and node you learn it will mean that you have just aquired a new lego-piece to your collectionin which you can combine with all other lego-pieces you already have. So it is kind off exponetial. A good tip is to isolate one part of houdinis features and dive into it. Do a project with just a water simulation or break down a wall, or explode something or do whatever you feel like. As long as you keep it simple in order to learn as much as possible in that specific subject. I started using houdini 7 months ago and did the stupid mistake of tryng to do everything at once. It was not until I started with projects nailed down to one subject that I really learned houdini in and properly aquired new lego pieces which I fully or partly understood how I could use those. Good luck! in a few months you will create stuff you can't even imagine Edited October 9, 2013 by Hudson
