Andreas Galster
I'm trying to figure out houdini and I'm trying to get an effect working where my mesh sort of explodes and follows along a trail. I thought this would someone be done with metaball force fields but I'm currently stuck. My current node setup is attached. I want the pieces to "explode" sort of like the spring node does it but I want them to follow along a certain path. Am I on the right track? Please keep in mind that I'm an absolute beginner, so I'm not very familiar (or mostly not at all) with anything else than SOPs. amination
I believe there are several ways to approach this. What I would do that seem to be less time consuming; I'd do this with particles. Add particles to center of each piece and drive them along the Metaball path, and then transfer the position of particles to relative piece, you may add random rotation to pieces yourself to get more convincing look.
