magneto
Hi, In this tutorial, they use the Gas Solver: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=1234&Itemid=262 But it's not available in H13 and I tried all available Gas Solvers and none of them accepts the connections required. Opening those scenes also do not work as the node shows as a Merge DOP and fails to cook because of input 1. What's the replacement for the Gas Solver DOP in H13? Multi Solver DOP? ikarus
You can use a multisolver dop or even a gas substep dop to run multiple solvers on incoming objects. Look at the smoke solver innards for reference on fluid solver guidelines.
magneto
Thanks ikarus, I thought maybe Multi Solver DOP was added after the Gas Solver DOP to be a general purpose solver. I was using that anyway
magneto
Also does anyone know why you had to use a Geometry Copy DOP using the Gas Solver because otherwise nothing happened to the geometry, but now in H13, it works without using the Geometry Copy DOP? Not sure if it's a workflow change or because of the way the new solver works directly on the Geometry data. I assume not many people know this due to Gas Solver DOP being much older.
