Trying to procedurally texture deep sea volcanic vents, help?

We're working on a project and this is basically an early test, as you can see, no textures.

The full project would be more like a short with a plot. I also have a turntable of a polypaint job to show what kind of look I want to replicate procedurally.

But I'm pretty new to houdini and I'm trying to figure out how to make a procedural shader that incorporates different photo textures that will randomly combine and blend them, with values of my choosing. 

 

Any links or sample files that would work with random geo to help me out would be great!
