Dispel
Just spitballing here, but I'm wondering if anyone has achieved results similar to these for sand and dirt type simulations. This is from a Blender python script, apparently...
Guest tar
looks good - is Blender good for production use?
ikarus
Looks similar to lagoa multiphysics or other material-based simulators. I'm hoping we get something similar in 14. It's written in cython btw, so its a little more complex than a regular python script Edited January 6, 2014 by ikarus
Dispel
Fair enough. It seems to be verlet-based and single-thread, which seems amazing to me...
shushu
seems a good example, but with animated objects, apparently, the effect is not the same. why allways boxs?In houdini I think: sim from bullet, eg:500.5000, 50000 small spheres..and you can manipulate the data very well, transf velocity from point to volume and go back to millons of particles. you can use a glue feature and a lot a lot of things.(and you not have to wait a week to see the results.) moondeer
the above sand sim reminds me of disney's work on snow simulations: http://www.cgmeetup.net/home/making-of-disneys-frozen-snow-simulation/
