cloudfx
Hi all, I am trying to export a geo with Cd attribute promoted from point to vertex. I've heard there is a way to connect the import Cd attribute to render properly in Maya but I am not a maya comfortable dude. Please suggest me any kind of way / examples to do that properly. Much appreciated.
H2O
Hi, To export Alembic to Maya with Cd attribute, in your ROP you have to change the format to HDF5. Then you write "Cd" attribute in Vertex attribute field. This export worked well, I already done it. But I'm not friendly with Maya neither, so I can't show you how to import it... Normaly with the Maya Alembic plugin it will be ok. Cheers
cloudfx
Where would I change the format? just write .HDF5 instead of .abc?
cloudfx
I got this error when I export with HDF5. // Error: file: C:/Program Files/Autodesk/Maya2014/scripts/AETemplates/AEnewColor.mel line 42: Attribute facetted:attribpromote4.Cd is not vector-valued. H2O
Which Houdini version do you use? I use H13.0.288 and you can see that my ROP Alembic options are differents. (maybe the export system is different too) For the import error in Maya, I don't know. Maybe your Cd attribute class is not a vector in Houdini neither...
