vfxjensen
Hi guys! I use Houdini in my sparetime. I have now attached some of the models I've done(as some of You might notice, I've seen some tutorials at Digital Tutor:-)). What do You think about it? I would like to get into the 3D business some day. But I'm studying comparative litterature so I don't think it'll qualify my for a job in 3D;-) Would it be totaly impossible for me to get into the business then? Thank you guys! Mandrake0
i find i's a good start.... and in the cg world it doesn't count what you learn it counts what you can do. :-) what just missing is solid knowledge of rendering, shading and scene setup but that you can learn. just make your path set targets and learn what you can. :-) look at the SideFx Tutorials and Peter Quints ones: http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=14&Itemid=132 https://vimeo.com/user2030228/videos even the SideFx Manual have good informations..... This Forum post i like specially it gives some information about Houdini internal (old School): http://forums.odforce.net/topic/17105-short-and-sweet-op-centric-lessons/
vfxjensen
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and links:-) I'll try to get a better understanding of the three topics you have mentioned. It's good to know where to have focus.
