dennisvolkerts
Hi, Is there a way to use an alpha and convert it to a mesh?? I know there is the Trace node but i have made some kind of Ferns with speedtree and i would like to add this trace technique to bended cardlike shapesI'm making a whole forest of ferns but with alpha meshes will cost me to much rendertime Anyone?? Thnx Alot
freaq
you can use a copnetwork extract the alpha and reference that as the trace source

dennisvolkerts
Something like this? Hi thnx but no. I mean a mesh with an alpha which is already on a bended plane like this: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31137830/alphaToMesh.jpg or like what i want with my fern convert the alpha to a mesh: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/31137830/alphaToMesh2.jpg
dpap
There is no "tracing" going in the pic you uploaded. It's just a shader with alpha. Like the left example in the hip file simply transparency.hip
