Nightwave
Hello, I am working on a project with an Aston Martin car that I modeled in Blender and then brought into Houdini as an .obj to simulate and render it out. While working on the materials, these weird circle artifacts randomly showed up on a few places of the mesh. They don't show up in the viewport, only the render. It's also on only about 4 of the 78 objects I brought it. You can really see them around the license plate and right in the middle of the tail light. I have tried exporting and importing different filetypes and I tried to mess with the geometry, but nothing is working so far. Have you guys seen anything like this and know how to get rid of it? Thanks in advanced!
Guest tar
should be your normals.
Nightwave
I checked all my normals before and after the export, and they seem to be fine... Still no idea why a big circle would just be showing up randomly like that...
Nightwave
Got it figured out. Some of the objects needed the fuse node, and some had some loose geometry that Houdini apparently didn't like.
anim
if you have isolated points (not part of polygons) they can be rendered as points so that may be the reason for circles you can change that behaviour on object/Geometry/Render As Points
Nightwave
Ah that's probably why they did that. Thanks!!!
