H2O
Hi everyone, I've got some big issue at work today I have to make a realistic lemon explosion effect in slow motion. I don't have any problem for fluid and debris system but the main animation. So I'm looking for some way to mix fractured object dynamic and soft body to deform each piece at the begin of the animation... I already have a "good" RBD dynamic (You can see the picture below). I tried to use a spring SOP after the simulation to add some animated deformations but it didn't work well. (I made a quick hip file) In fact, I really don't know how to achieve this effect correctly. If someone have an idea it will save my day and maybe the next ones! (I'm joking, no pressure, but it will be very helpfull ) Cheers springSop_Test.hip
Sierra62
For a shot like this, I would really recommend checking out FEM. It works great for soft body simulations, including soft body fracturing.
H2O
Thx Sierra62, I'll take a look!
H2O
Hi all, So I looked around FEM stuff. It's awesome!! Very powerfull!! But not very easy to use.. I think you're right Sierra62, it's the better way for this effect. But (always one ), I've got two problems now. First, my object is already fractured (made in Maya). And after many tests, it appears that FEM only use dynamic fractures to work... Am I wrong? If no, f*ck! I've to find another way.. If yes, could someone enlight me please? ) Secondly, my object have already some uvs and when the ploy object comes a treta one, my uvs don't work anymore. Here is a simple scene to show this. Any ideas? Cheers fem_pulpe_test.hip
LouisXIV
Hey maybe this sidefx masterclass on FEM will help you...
H2O
Thx LouisXIV But I already watched this masterclass. A real good one by the way!
