baking textures

Recommended Posts

Will baking out your textures through .bgeo files speed up render times? If not, what's the benefit? Besides a cleaner network.

Trying to speed up my render time as much as possible. I'm using HDRi with 20 lights, so if anyone has any ideas please let me know. I'm going to try rendering out a shadow map reference file to see what happens.

Any advice would be swell!

Thanks. :D

Having trouble making the shadow map work with 20 hdri lights. I got it to work with a simple scene with 1 spot light. But the hdri lights are not spot lights, they are 20 point lights. So with the same procedure as the simple scene I am getting no shadows at all, just very very bright lights! If anyone has had experience with this or knows what's going wrong please let me know.

Thanks!
