edgem
Hi everyone, Sorry for the nnob question...I am wondering if anyone knows how to set initial velocity in pyro SIM in Houdini 13 ? In previous versions, when we hit the billowy smoke shelves button, we had an applysource node which enable us to set it. Now it's not there anymore. Do we have to manually set the velocity into the object now ? Thanks
pbarua
Velocity gets calculated at sop level using "Fluid Source" sop.
edgem
Thanks Pradeep, I have checked the fluid Source SOP but I can't find where I can define the initial axis. For example if I want the smoke to push towards X axis, where do I define that ? Thanks
pbarua
There is a toggle under Velocity Volumes called Add Velocity.
pbarua
You can also use Fluid Source sop for pump source and velocity source by changing Initialize under Container Settings. Then read it in dops using source fluid dop.
pbarua
"Pump From Objects" shelf tool does this automatically for you.
