dulo
I just want to write one transforming object ( wire simulation ) into an alembic file to use it as vertex cache in lightwave. I always get some weird message about the object not being in the same object network .. look at the screenshot. What does this message mean and what can I do about it ?? loopyllama
maybe this helps? http://www.sidefx.com/index.php?option=com_forum&Itemid=172&page=viewtopic&p=132212&highlight= From ripclaw: Check in your Alembic ROP whether you linked the "Root Object" directly to the Object you're trying to export. That doesn't work. Your "Root Object" usualle is "/obj" and the "Objects" then is the name you want to export (or just "*") From motionprojects: I often have trouble with alembic export from a moderately complicated network. To get around this output the result as a .bgeo sequence. Then open a fresh houdini scene. Import the .bgeo back in and with that alone in the scene, do your export to Alembic. Don't know why but it has worked when the expected way does not.
