argilop
Hi everyone, I am trying to develop my first procedural asset and I am facing some basic problems. I want to place a ribbon bow on top of the box and set it as it remains on top of the box no matter how tall or wide the box is, I am sure that I have to link the pivots some how. The other problem I'm facing is the binding of the present and as well i want it to stay around the box no matter the size of it. I attach my houdini file. Thank you in advance. christmas_box_01.hipnc Edited December 3, 2014 by argilop
Sierra62
At first glance, you are complicating this asset by moving the objects away from the origin before the object is developed. Once the object is built and everything is merged together then move the object. With that in mind the bow only needs the "y" channel from the box. argilop
Hi again, Thanks for the comment Cody, I did it again and now it's working perfectly. But now I am facing the problem of UV unwrap the model and create a procedural texture system in order to change the colour of the gift. Any hint of how to achieve this? Thanks Edited December 4, 2014 by argilop
Sierra62
I'm glad its working better for you, but sadly I am not very good with UVs.
subdproxy
Check out this thread with the box file. He does a good job of creating a procedural UV for the box. This may help you get started. http://forums.odforce.net/topic/20697-procedural-uving/
